Twitter has quietly introduced a “dislike” button Facebook fought against all these years. When you are on the home section of your android app and you see a tweet that you don’t like, if you don’t want to unfollow or block the person, you can touch the drop down and you will see an option “I don’t like this tweet” which literally explains your feeling.

When you select that, twitter removes that particular tweet from your feed and displays a Notification “Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better” and even gives an undo button with it.

Its functionality seems similar to the YouTube’s “Not interested” option. This information about your preferences are fed to Twitter’s stack of algorithms so that tweets are tailored to your need.
If you are running a business, please take note of this. If lots of people dislike a tweet of a business, the chances of Twitter not allowing their ads are very high. Check out this article about “what kind of businesses are prohibited on Twitter Ads” by
Nobody knows why it was integrated so discretely. But, nobody is going to “dislike” this feature anytime soon.

Whatsapp will be rolling out new feature with the next update which includes tracking your friends’ location who are part a group, recall messages, and edit messages
How this works?
The geo tracking feature will be by default disabled which can be enabled to allow friends to locate you, which is really useful for the group members to gather at a common venue. Though why it’s been enabled for members of a whatsapp group and not peer to peer is not clear. Other features expected to roll out include the famous recall where you can recall a message sent before the other person reads it and also an opportunity to edit your response on a message which gives ample of opportunity to keep the conversation going by correcting the mistakes in real time giving more freedom in a messaging app.
The dynamics of features that whatsapp would provide its users represents and compliments the loyalty and user centric nature of an app that stays at the top in the market.
All said and done, it’s only a matter of time till we get that latest update to try hands on keeping an eye on your friend.

Blue Origins, a company owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, has successfully relanded its reusable rocket for the 3rd time. Jeff Bezos himself tweeted about the success on April 2nd. Blue Origins which is in competition with Elon Musk’s space X in the reusable rocket race, always have kept their findings and work under wraps and only surfaces when something remarkable marks their achievement.

Space X however have livestreamed their launch on several occasions. Blue Origins rocket engine started at above 3600 feet above ground before landing. Even though Blue Origins has been successful in launching reusable rockets into space, Space X has raised the bar by successfully launching reusable rockets and putting them into Orbit last December.

Only time will tell what these giants have in them, which will surely revolutionise the space explorations.

Facebook, Google and WhatsApp plan on increasing security by improving their existing encryption. Experts in Silicon Valley are saying that, it is the concrete way of supporting Apple Inc. The free app WhatsApp now owned by Facebook already offers encrypted messaging, but is going to encrypt the voice calls in a week or so. It is worth noting that authorities in Brazil arrested an executive of Facebook when WhatsApp said it did not have the technical ability to provide the messages of a person of interest.

Facebook and a bunch of companies started Open Compute Project 5 years ago that helps IT infrastructure development through open source hardware. So that made Facebook to open source the way it builds servers, server farms and data centers. That sounds cool, but Google has to divulge details about their servers too and they did share some information about it in the past, but they have to share more now, which makes it even more cooler!

Google is very interested in improving the state of disk drives in the data center. This is just the beginning and we can expect a lot of contributions from Google. More companies are expected to join the project this year.

Virtuix Omni is a virtual reality device that costs $699 with which you can walk through virtual reality.

Virtuix started its original Kickstarter campaign for the Omni in 2013 and sold more than 3,000 devices, but only started shipping this year.

The Virtuix Omni is a one-of-a-kind active virtual reality motion platform. In short, Active VR, where your actions in the virtual world are controlled by first-person navigation like walking or running, creates an unprecedented sense of immersion that cannot be experienced sitting down. The Virtuix Omni lets you walk, run, sit and strafe with 360-degree freedom of movement allowing you to control your avatar without restraints.

To use this properly, you have to strap on the safety harness so that you stay in one place and also wear a frictionless pair of shoes. To move in a particular direction, you have to run up the shallow concave wall in that direction. By the way, when I say running, I mean slipping.

Omni would be continuously evolve as it is a direct competitor to HTC Vive’s room-scale tracking. The world will soon be seeing healthy gamers running like crazy.
